Transact Campus Limerick Donates €3,000 to CBS Primary School

International Headquarters and Next-Generation Digital Campus Marks One-Year Anniversary of Limerick Office Opening with Contribution to Community

LIMERICK, IRELAND, AND PHOENIX (Jan 14, 2022) – Transact, the leader in innovative credential and payment solutions for a connected campus, today announced the donation of €3,000 in support of the CBS Primary School Breakfast Club program. Transact employees chose to celebrate the recent one-year anniversary of the Limerick office opening with a contribution to the community.

CBS Primary School is a boys’ school with 202 pupils ranging in age from 7 to 13 years old. The school welcomes children from all cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and faiths, and pupils’ families hail from more than 40 countries and speak 27 languages. The vibrant, multicultural school is situated in a socially and economically disadvantaged area of Limerick City with above-average unemployment rates.

The CBS Primary School Breakfast Club is one of several programs provided to ensure that students reach their potential within the education system. For 10 years, the Breakfast Club has provided a great start to the day for students who come from disadvantaged homes, approximately half of the school’s population.

“We wanted a meaningful way to celebrate this milestone,” said John Gleeson, general manager of Transact’s Limerick campus. “We want to boldly contribute to addressing food insecurity among some of the most vulnerable in our community and raise awareness for the great work the CBS Primary School and its Breakfast Club are doing to provide meals and invaluable mentorship to students each morning.”

In 2020, Transact announced the creation of its next-generation digital campus project in Limerick that would serve as the company’s international headquarters. Transact chose to locate the international headquarters in Ireland’s Mid-West region because of its top technology and financial services talent pool. Transact currently employs 53 full-time team members at its Limerick City Centre campus.

“It is amazing how quickly our Limerick team has grown and how readily the team has contributed to our business vision and strategy,” said Transact CEO Nancy Langer. “We are very, very pleased with the progress of this innovative partnership with the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. This donation is not only about commemorating the year that has passed, but also about connecting with our community.”

The state-of-the-art digital campus and team in Limerick are central to shaping and developing Transact’s portfolio of products and services. The Limerick team consists of product owners, architects, engineers, scrum masters, UX designers, front-end developers, back-end developers, iOS and Android developers, data scientists and more. Since the campus doors opened in 2020, Transact team members have contributed to multiple core workstreams that exploit de-coupled micro-service architectures, cloud-based data analytics, CQRS patterns, asynchronous event-based integration models, data streaming, data lakes, and AI-linked analysis.

Last year, Transact announced its support for the University of Limerick’s Immersive Software Engineering (ISE) Program. As part of this partnership and Transact’s commitment to its Limerick location, the company will host ISE program residencies and has joined the ISE Advisory Board, which is a coalition of global leaders. The program focuses on studio-based, immersive learning experiences to prepare the next generation of software engineers with unique programs focused on advancing women in software engineering.
